Glad to hear you’re interested in being part of the Incubator. Edinburgh Imports, Inc. has developed the Incubator as a way for artists to make the jump from creating one of a kind artist pieces to manufacturing high quality reproductions of their designs. This process is meant to help the artist stay creative and designing new pieces without worrying about filling larger orders. Everything is controlled and owned by the artist and all the decisions are made by the artist. The Incubator simply facilitates the production. You can also choose to market the pieces on your own and/or have us market them through the Incubator.

We are here to answer any questions you may have regarding production or the type of marketing you may wish to pursue. If you choose to market your items through the Incubator, we will assist you in determining a wholesale/retail price which will afford you a greater profit. Marketing your items through the Incubator will also help you gain store and catalog exposure through our wide range of current Incubator retailers.

In a nutshell, the first steps you will take as an Incubator Artist are:

1. Complete our standard required paperwork.
2. Send to me an original piece to be copied and a complete “kit” of materials that will be used to make the manufactured sample.
   1. I will send the original and the “kit” to the manufacturer and he will create a sample production piece.
   2. The manufacturer will then send the original back along with the production sample for your approval. They will also provide a per-piece production cost.
3. If everything meets with your approval, then you are ready to place a production order.

Our only request is that you use our fabrics whenever possible (ex. mohair/felt/Ultrasuede®). You may use (and must provide) any other fabrics etc. that we don’t carry.

Our Artist Agreement explains the entire process. The Artist Agreement is standard contract that is executed by all the Incubator artists. This contract explains the detailed process of reproducing your designs through the Incubator from beginning to end and all the options that will be available to you.
